All sorts of bags.

Tote Bags

This gallery displays all of my Tote Bags.

I stencil Bella’s Silhouette onto a canvas or twill bag and embellish with buttons.

Bella! Tote bag.

Bella! Tote bag.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

O.M.Geeeee! It’s Bella! On a bag with green button eyes just like her big round eyes! This new idea couldn’t wait any longer, Bella, in silhouette, at the bottom of a bag and with just big blue-green eyes that are two-hole buttons sewn on with black thread.

I had intended to work it out for tote bags first and maybe a few other items and screen print it, but making screens has been a challenge (workspace issues) so I’ve been holding off, but holding the idea. With the Homeless Cat Management Team and Pittsburgh CAT spaghetti dinner I really wanted this item because Bella is an alum of both organizations! Based on one of my sketches of Bella from shortly after she arrived here simply called “Bella”, so I pulled out the scan of the little painting and refined the design in Photoshop. Bella’s eyes are not yellow green, they are a cooler blue-green, and I found pretty close to a good color for her.

You’ll be seeing this design on a variety of bags as well as on other items soon.

Yes? Tote Bag

I imprinted my wildlife block print “Yes?” on a pre-made hemp tote bag. The bag is 15″ x 17″ x 3″ and unlined, great for shopping. I only purchased and printed two of these bags to experiment, so when they sell out they are out of stock until I can find another similar bag.

ABOUT THE ARTWORK

G. Print only, black and white, $35.00

G. Print only, black and white

This linoleum block print captures a leopard I saw at the zoo, turning around with quite the question on her face. I so loved the spots that showed up so clearly in my photos so I decided to just print the spots. The art size is 12″W x 10″H.

Block printing is a technique wherein the artist carves the surface of a piece of linoleum, leaving raised areas which will become the image. Ink is rolled onto these raised areas, then a piece of paper is pressed against the block and when it’s lifted away the ink remains, leaving the image on the paper.

I also offer this print without color, as a print alone, and matted and framed, as well as on t-shirts and sweat shirts.

Small jute tote bags with my leopard block print, "Yes?"

I imprinted my wildlife block print “Yes?” on both sides of a pre-made jute tote bag or small purse and detailed the edges with a spotted print. The bag is 8″ x 10″ x 3″, lined with thin clear vinyl and holds its shape well. Handles are sturdy plastic coated cord covered with jute. I only purchased and printed two of these bags to experiment, so when they sell out they are out of stock until I can find another similar bag.
