Holiday Open House and Studio Sale

Finally, the open house I’d been planning to host as early as October came to be, after getting all the work done that paid for the materials for the new items I made. And those items turned out so well and were very popular that it was worth both the wait and the effort.

Holiday Open House Studio Sale
Last year was so much fun I’m doing it again.
December 15 and 16, 2018
10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
or let me know if you can’t make it during those hours.

I’ll have my artwork and photography up on the walls and in bins, prints
of artwork and photos, small framed items, and all the handmade gift
items I have been busy making.
And it’s all 25% off!

My open house for the holidays last December was very fun and successful as was the one over the summer. I love having people visit, hosting it at my home makes set up easier, and I can leave it up as long as I like. When I sent my invitations several people remarked they couldn’t make it over the weekend but would like to come during the week.

Usually I send post cards because the cards are worth the investment, being far more effective than any electronic communications. Because I don’t want to broadcast my address to total strangers on social media I keep a list of those who have expressed interest and encourage them to share with friends and family. If you’d like to be on that list click this link and sign up! You can let me know if you want a post card, email, or both. I know sometimes it takes that much to get my attention for events.

Here are the new items I made in time for this event—just in time—tiles, tiny pins, a new style of dishes and coasters and new cabochons. I am currently adding the unsold items to my Handmade Gift Gallery, and making more items to replace what was popular and sold.

Also, I picked up the 2019 version of the calendar for Pittsburgh CAT! Calendars are $25.00 each and after printing and shipping $10.00 is donated to Pittsburgh CAT, but if you are local and can pick up your calendar instead of shipping, you can donate an extra $5.00!

Kitties were part of the fun too, though Mimi was a little miffed that she had to act like my art materials to get attention, but Giuseppe was the greeter, Mariposa found a cool new place to observe indoors and out, and Jelly Bean was happy to show people where to start looking at things, by petting him.

The shop room

The shop display is permanent: I always have merchandise and greeting cards on display in this room if you want to stop by in between my sales and events. Just let me know you’d like to visit to be sure I’m here. It won’t be 25% off at other times, but nearly every item will be $5.00 off the prices you see on my website because I build that into my prices for shipping. Below is the beginning of what it looks like, though I’ll be changing and adding to it in the next few months as I do finish my studio renovations. Also, once I get the chance to replace some stock of handmade goods after the sale, I’ll take more photos.
