It’s hard to believe the longest day of the year is past already! It’s sweet summertime. Windows open to the long days, lots of sunshine along with the heat and storms of summer, I may not enjoy the last two so much but I do love the freedom of leaving the windows open day and night, hearing birds and feeling the breezes, and working inside and outside as it suits what I’m doing.

In my summer artwork I try to capture that freedom as I interact more with my environment and enjoy the exuberance of flowers eager to catch the eye of some likely pollinator to help them along with their goal of ensuring the next generation.

Then there’s the hot summer afternoon spent in the cool shadows of the woods, the smooth worn soil of the path beneath my feet while birds zig-zag among the tree trunks under the canopy of leaves whispering above.

This little collage represents a good bit of the summer artwork you’ll find on my website. Many originals are still available, and you can also choose a print on paper or canvas, as a greeting or note card, or even on a handmade gift item—more on those choices below.
