I always feature something beachy for my July or August desktop calendar, and this painting was a natural for this year. I am immensely proud of how the wave turned out, and really I’m pretty pleased with all of it. The title is true, I just decided to be honest there. The seagull is standing […]
Really, it’s true, I just decided to be honest with the title. The seagull is standing on a beach on Hilton Head Island and I’d like to be there at just about any point, weather conditional. I took photos of the beach in Savannah when I visited my niece in 2016 and for the daily […]
What can you say about gulls that is unique, since this is pretty much what they do all day? I’ve done a few other gull paintings and intend to do a few more, but unless I start numbering them I have to find something about this gull, “[Adjective] Gull”, that will make this painting different […]

I Want To Be Where That Gull Is Standing, Pastel, 9 x 12, 2017. The original is not framed yet but will likely be a blue weathered wood frame with color core mats. Digital, giclee and canvas prints as well as greeting cards are available. ABOUT THE ARTWORK Really, it’s true, I just decided to […]
Observant Gull, Pastel, 5″ x 7″, 2017. The original is framed in a 1″ solid wood blue weathered frame with a single pale blue black core mat and digital, giclee and canvas prints are available. What can you say about gulls that is unique, since this is pretty much what they do all day? I’ve […]
I am participating in Leslie Saeta’s annual “30 in 30” painting challenge this month. This is my painting for day 11. What can you say about gulls that is unique, since this is pretty much what they do all day? I’ve done a few other gull paintings and intend to do a few more, but […]
“Big Blue” is a pastel from one of my photos, one I’ve been wanting to paint for seven years, and I just finished it today. We have a rookery of great blue herons not far from me and I see them all the time flying overhead and fishing in the creek sometimes right in the […]
Big Blue, Pastel, 13.5 x 19.5, 2023. Digital, giclee and canvas prints are available. About Big Blue We have a rookery of great blue herons not far from me and I see them all the time flying overhead and fishing in the creek sometimes right in the middle of town. The fact that a […]
While I often photograph butterflies and wildflowers in the wild, these were actually growing in a parking lot. When our town’s parking lots were rebuilt a few years ago standards for stormwater management were integrated into the plan, and a swale with plantings between the rows of cars was filled with native plants. Each year […]

Bernadette Kazmarski is my absolute favorite artist, I have one of her pieces on nearly every wall in my home. One of the things I admire most about her work is her feline art. Bernadette is able to capture cats in a very emotional and authentic way. The light and expressions on her feline subjects are so delightful. No animal has captivated us (and the Internet) quite like the house cat. Bernadette's pieces perfectly replicate the joys our feline friends bring to us.

Friends and I chipped in together and hired Bernadette to create a memorial of a friend’s beloved cat after kitty passed away. The memorial was beautiful! We highly recommend Bernadette’s work.

Bernadette Kazmarski is a friend and talented artist who's an avid cat lover just like us! She has created original cat artwork using a variety of mediums, and has transformed her artwork into such useful giftware items as notepads, garden flags, calendars, greeting cards table decor and votives (one of my personal favorites). She's also an award winning writer. Bernadette is a dedicated cat rescue volunteer and remains active in savings cats' lives.
Carolyn Kozlowski, My Three Cats & Co., Inc.
I love Bernadette's creativity and style. In addition, when I purchase from her, it is from a wonderful, caring person, not a faceless corporation.
