Flowery, Summery Garden Flags

Summery, flowery garden flags

It’s time to dress up the yard for summer, right around the corner! Right now I have two flowery designs for garden flags based on my paintings. I’m working up a few others, but it’s difficult to narrow down and settle on the ones I really like.

About the flags

My garden flags are 11″ x 15″ because my largest fabric transfers are 11″ x 17″, then I fold the top over for the pocket. They are printed on only one side, but you can see the design really well from the back anytime during daylight.

They are printed on cotton twill with a light fabric transfer. The professional-quality transfer is intended for light fabric so covers the fabric without the feeling of vinyl and holds the art well.

Availability

Here are the two current flowery designs with links to where you can purchase them, or you can skip to the Garden Flags page in my Handmade Gift Gallery. I typically stock all garden flags shown there though I only print smaller quantities, usually no more than six at a time. If you’d like a quantity of flags, or a custom flag, please send me an email.

Evening Wildflowers

Garden Flag, Evening Wildflowers

On a sweltering, sticky August evening I discovered an incredibly beautiful patch of native wildflowers intentionally seeded at Scott Conservancy Kane Woods. I forgot about sweaty hands and the pulse of the sun directly in my face because it was also touching each and every flower on that hillside, filling leaves and petals with brilliance. I photographed my fill.

Greenhouse Gerberas

I took the reference photo for this painting at a local greenhouse in 2013. I’ve always liked colorful gerbera daisies and their bold smiling faces. I’ve used it for a few graphic designs and decided someday I’d paint it too. I chose oil pastel because I’ve come to enjoy working out the flowers with layering and impasto on a rough-textured paper.

Product Disclosure

The manufacturer of the fabric transfers I use to make these and many other products, NuCoat, will give me a discount on purchases if I tag them and mention them on social media when I post a product where I’ve used their transfers. I am more than happy to do this for the quality of their transfers and the things I can make when I use them, and their customer service as well. Visit their website: https://nufunactivities.com/
