Wildflowers are beginning to bloom in the woods, the trees have a fuzz of green, red-tailed hawks constantly soar above on thermals against the bright blue sky, and the first butterflies aren’t far behind. I have a selection of seasonal cabochon pendants to brighten up your wardrobe.

I’ve been visiting the woods and while I love my winter, I love the sun on my skin and bare feet on the trail, visiting my favorite wildflower areas to check for progress.

I purchased a few bags of cabachon frames and glass and many were quite decorative. Two of the frames had trees etched onto the back of the frame, and I decided to use my photo “Find Your Roots” in those two, a large and a small version.

Most exciting for me, I had purchased a large bag of silver and gold beads in various designs because I’d wanted to dress up some of my cabochons, and so I did, as you see above, and also added cotton and hemp cords.

I also included flowers in new and different frames. I liked this vertical rectangular frame for the St. John’s Wort.

Flowers fit well in round and oval cabochon pendants too, like St. John’s Wort and sunflowers, and that lovely old pink rose in my side yard. Okay, it’s not a wildflower, but I look forward to it just the same.

I make a high-quality print of my image, whether photo or painting, trim it to fit the cabochon and frame and adhere it all together, then choose a cord or chain that coordinates with it. I like to vary the shapes from plain circles to squares and rectangles in a variety of metal finishes as well as plates with decorative frames. Now that I’ve added beads, it’s really hard to stop once I get going with these.
