Garden Flags

I’ve worked out materials to make my own garden flags since the printer for the last ones closed about six years ago. I am so happy to be able to offer these again, and making them myself gives me so much more versatility in size and shape, and a greater selection to offer at quantities that make sense, as well as possible customization.

Flags are printed on cotton duck canvas with a commercial fabric transfer which holds the image well. I add a hem with either stitching or hot glue to keep it from curling in damp weather. The canvas hangs straight but swings back and forth in the breeze. Best of all the fabric transfer gives the canvas enough of a covering that, except for high wind and weather areas, the flag will go at least a year and usually two or even three, without fraying or fading. I left my test flags out through the winter for three years and by the end of that test I could see a few loose fabric threads and some of the reds were starting to fade.

The flags are printed on only one side. Though I can’t print on both sides, you can see the design  from the back through the fabric during daylight.

I typically stock all garden flags shown here, though I only print smaller quantities, usually no more than six at a time. I have a separate category for flags that I don’t print regularly because they weren’t as popular as others, but I can still make one.

If you’d like a quantity of flags, or a custom flag, please send me an email.

Flag Designs Out of Stock

I sell fewer of these designs, or I’m somehow reworking them like Happy Meow-lo-ween, and I don’t make them as often as I do the other designs above. In part this is to save material—with Joann Fabrics closing I can’t run out on a whim and get a bolt of cotton duck canvas if I run out but I can get it in a few days. I can always make one if you want to order one of these designs, but that means there might be a delay in receiving your order.
