I adhere a high-quality print of my watercolor sketch Snowy Morning to a medium-size white paper gift bag. Bag measures approximately 8″ x 10″ x 3″ deep but may vary slightly. Price includes shipping.
From the first time I received a gift bag with feline artwork on it, I could picture my art on a gift bag. I’ve tried a few different methods and finally found one that works well: printing my art to size on a commercial-grade label and buffing it permanently onto the bag. The art can only be on the front because of the way the bag folds, but so many bag colors and styles exist and that keeps them lively.
These bags are medium-sized shopping bags, usually around 8″ x 10″ x 3″, but they vary slightly in size, color and finish, even in the same lot, and sometimes they even have colored handles. If you purchase more than one in the same design and color I will make sure they match.
ABOUT THE ARTWORK
We had some snow that morning. The kittens had only seen snow in the air once before, and were fascinated.
This is Bella on my bedroom windowsill first thing in the morning, watching the air thick with flurries, and no doubt birds too, in the maple tree outside the bedroom window. It is also many other cats through the years as well as I’ve awakened and watched them utterly immersed in whatever was happening right outside the window. The little cat, the big window, it seems to be a theme.
When I woke up and saw Bella fascinated by the early snow squall, this is what I saw, and I also remember that without someone to rescue her she’d be out there, she might be trying to feed herself and kittens like Mimi did, she might not even have survived, instead of sitting safe inside a big window in a warm house with her current career as an artist’s model. It’s not just what I see that’s inspiring, it’s what I know too.
This painting won a Muse Medallion for Illustration in the 2015 Cat Writers’ Association Annual Communications Contest.
You can find this art as a print too.
