Holiday Ornaments!

Handmade holiday ornaments

Finally got this year’s ornaments done! Three are designs I’ve made and even offered in the past year, but through that first iteration I refined the techniques and designs and they are much the better for that.

I had initially begun with 4″ discs made of polymer clay and I really love that size, but when I looked at most actual ornaments I realized that’s bit big. I tried 3″ discs, which I could purchase in thin wood, and they are just about the perfect size. All three designs are on 3″ wooden circles with the design handpainted or impressed on the front, finished and embellished on all sides.

Two are ornaments I made in a small quantity for my Panhandle Trail exhibit this year and decided to offer at the holidays too.

I’ve also made more of a very special feline design, “Star of Wonder”, and when I created this month’s desktop calendar I decided to add “Snow at Night”.

A single ornament is $10.00, $5.00 for the ornament and $5.00 to cover shipping. Additional ornaments are only $5.00 each. You’ll see that information in the product post.

Below are each of the new designs—click on the image to go to the product post.

Dusk in the Woods

My painting “Dusk in the Woods” is impressed onto the wood disk with a fabric transfer and finished with an iridescent matte varnish. The edge is detailed with silver and the back is painted solid medium blue.

Star of Wonder

“Star of Wonder” is entirely handpainted onto the wood disk, the star in silver, the background and cat in two shades of matte blue, with a silver edge. The back is painted the background blue.

Snowfall

My painting “Snowfall” is impressed onto the wood disk with a fabric transfer and finished with an iridescent matte glitter varnish. Decorative text reads: “Snowfall Panhandle Trail”, which is where the scene is and where I painted it. The edge is detailed with pale gold and the back is unpainted.
