Summer Flowers Tiles

Summer Flowers Tiles

Summer Flowers Tiles

Summer Flowers Tiles

Warm mornings, bright afternoons, hot evenings. The first warm days are here and I’m ready for flowers. I made tiles out of some of my favorite flower paintings for you to enjoy, to use set down your iced tea or coffee, protect and decorate a countertop or hang on a wall like small paintings.

Each tile is about 4″ square. They are made of white polymer clay rolled thin with my artwork transferred onto the surface with clear details and bright colors. Because they are handmade and shaping, stamping and drying changes their dimensions, they are not uniform in size, shape or thickness, but that makes each one unique.

NOTES ON USE:

  • These tiles work great with items filled with hot food or liquids, like mugs of coffee or tea or dishes filled with cooked food. There is not enough heat transferred to affect the polymer.
  • They are not safe for use with food like dips or sauces, though chips or cookies would be okay.
  • They cannot be used with items taken out of the oven or microwave or off the stove, any item which has been heated by cooking—the polymer will soften from the heat.

And a special discount on two or three tiles

I add $5.00 shipping to my retail price of each item, but it costs about the same to ship two or three tiles as it does to ship one, and I also have a discount from the retail price for purchasing three or more tiles.

  • Purchase 2 tiles for $25.00, use discount code 2TILES25
  • Purchase 3 tiles for $30.00, use discount code 3TILES30

My Mother’s Columbines Tile

Columbines Tile

Columbines Tile

A painting borne of January inspiration in my seed and flower catalogs, this little bunch of columbines was so joyful that it stayed with me. One of my favorite flowers, it is also a favorite of my mother, and I gave this painting to her as a birthday present one year. She has since passed away and I’ve sold her home, and kept the artwork I’d done. I sold the original to a good friend to give to her mother but this image will always remind me of her.

Poppies Tile

Poppies tile

Poppies tile

Just some bright orange poppies in the sun on a summer afternoon. I took photos of a neighbor’s garden and intentionally angled one of them to have the poppies grouped against a dark background with no leaves or buds and as few stems as possible, and no black centers, just a big mass of orange, and kind of abstract.

Evening Wildflowers Tile

Evening Wildflowers Tile

On a sweltering, sticky August evening I discovered an incredibly beautiful patch of native wildflowers intentionally seeded at Scott Conservancy Kane Woods. I forgot about sweaty hands and the pulse of the sun directly in my face because it was also touching each and every flower on that hillside, filling leaves and petals with brilliance. I photographed my fill.
