Veronica wanted a custom piece of artwork that included a Schnauzer to remember the years of Schnauzer dogs she had loved, and she really liked my painting “Tea for Tulips,” and wanted to combine the two into one piece of artwork I’d create for her. The result is above in “Veronica’s Tulips.”
The possibilities are endless for commissioned artwork, and if you’ve been considering a piece of custom artwork for yourself or your family, my holiday offer of 25% off custom commissioned artwork is still available through December 31, 2022.
Below, coming home from work, a couple loved to see their back yard and anticipate having dinner and enjoying a summer evening out there, so they had me paint a little portrait of the view as they came to the house.
I’ve created many group portraits of all the pets a family loved, even if their lives were years apart.
And custom landscapes for a custom frame the commissioner owned sent me finding local landscape views my customer loved for a “four seasons” theme.

My holiday season discount
I’m offering 25% off the purchase of a portrait certificate or a commissioned portrait that is booked before December 31, 2022. Use the coupon code COMMISSIONEDARTWORK25 below.
Book Commissioned Artwork
You’ll book a portrait by purchasing a portrait gift certificate, even though it’s for you! It’s the best way for me to get it into my system and keep track of all my art and orders.
I offer gift certificates for portraits in any denomination beginning at $50.00, which is the basic cost of an 8″ x 10″ black and white sketch of painting. Certificates are good for up to one year after issue, but I’ll usually honor them whenever they come along. It just makes my accounting easier if it’s within the same year.
You can get the process started by purchasing a small certificate, then we can discuss your vision and see if we need to add to that.
How to Order
- “Certificate A” is for a minimum-size 8 x 10 black and white or monochromatic portrait with one subject.
- “Certificate B” is for a minimum-size 8 x 10 color portrait with one subject.
- Choose “A” or “B” depending on whether your portrait is black and white or color.
- If your portrait will be larger or have more subjects, add $50 or $100 or more to your certificate value with the drop-down below.
CERTIFICATE A $50.00
- Size: 8 x 10
- Subjects: One
- Color: black and white media such as charcoal, pencil, ink, or monochromatic media such as one color of pastel, watercolor, colored pencil, etc.
- Background or objects: none but shading or colored paper
CERTIFICATE B $100.00
- Size: 8 x 10
- Subjects: One
- Color: full color media such as pastel, watercolor, colored pencil, etc.

Add to your certificate purchase
You can use the second drop down to add $50.00 or $100.00. For amounts over this I’m working out the easiest way to give options so it’s not too confusing.Other items with the same art or design To find all items on this site with the same art or design, use the search box for the name of the artwork and you'll find all that's available.
