From Spring Into Summer 2016
Celebrating the Solstice with Original Art and Prints
This post is adapted from my Summer Solstice e-newsletter. Sign up for the Art & Merchandise E-newsletter if you’d like to receive it in your email.
Summer is finally here with sunshine and bright colors of flowers and deep greens of dense summer woods, maybe even a trip to the beach. It’s the season when it’s easiest to paint en plein air with long days and no need for gloves while I work on capturing all that lush and colorful profusion in gardens and fields, on the trail and in the woods.
I’m celebrating the solstice with a discount on all landscapes, waterscapes and florals now listed on Portraits of Animals: 25% off anything in those galleries until June 30, 2016. Just use the code “SPRINGINTOSUMMER25” for your special discount on any original artwork or prints.
A few featured works
I also have a few smaller originals that are daily sketches from my walks around Carnegie that look great as a set either as originals or as prints on canvas or paper.
These four spring themed works are all nearly the same size and framed in white wood frames that are each slightly different from another just for effect. They make a nice grouping whether as the originals or as prints, in twos, or three or all four. Click each work to read more about it. Each original is $100, framed prints are $60 each.
Serenity
“Serenity” is one of my favorite pastels capturing a slow-moving sailboat and a summer sunset on Lake Arthur. But it’s 5″ x 20″ and very difficult to fit it into anything near a standard frame or canvas size—what was I thinking? Because of the odd size of this painting, the only reasonable reproduction is a giclee, and it’s absolutely gorgeous.
