Even when there’s snow, there’s still a lot of color in the landscape.
I regularly walked railroad tracks for my Sunday hike, a day when few if any trains ran. They’re not too different from other established trails and are kept clear, and the views are interesting, going past the backs of everything, and even going from town to town if I go far enough.
I really like the way the angled light fell on the tracks, defining the individual ties. The range of subtle earth tones had me itching for my pastels, knowing exactly which ones I’d choose for each color. This painting is small but there’s so much variety of shape and pattern, that’s what makes it interesting, all that detail in this simple scene.
Where to find “Walking the Tracks”
I sold the original in my, but I can make prints of this little painting. A 6″ x 6″ print is $20.00 including taxes, shipping and handling. Please ask if you’re interested.
You can find this included in my 2004 exhibit “Winter White.”
